Gillespie, James E. published the artcileRegioselective Radical Arene Amination for the Concise Synthesis of ortho-Phenylenediamines, COA of Formula: C7H6N2, the main research area is ortho phenylenediamine preparation regioselective radical arene amination; monoalkyl amine benzimidazole benzotriazole preparation; anionic substrate radical cation regioselective radical amination.

The formation of arene C-N bonds directly from C-H bonds is of great importance and there has been rapid recent development of methods for achieving this through radical mechanisms, often involving reactive N-centered radicals. A major challenge associated with these advances is that of regiocontrol, with mixtures of regioisomeric products obtained in most protocols, limiting broader utility. We have designed a system that utilizes attractive noncovalent interactions between an anionic substrate and an incoming radical cation in order to guide the latter to the arene ortho position. The anionic substrate takes the form of a sulfamate-protected aniline and telescoped cleavage of the sulfamate group after amination leads directly to ortho-phenylenediamines, key building blocks for a range of medicinally relevant diazoles. Our method can deliver both free amines and monoalkyl amines allowing access to unsym., selectively monoalkylated benzimidazoles and benzotriazoles. As well as providing concise access to valuable ortho-phenylenediamines, this work demonstrates the potential for utilizing noncovalent interactions to control positional selectivity in radical reactions.

Abdelhameed, Reda M. published the artcileBoosting the photocatalytic activity of Ti-MOF via emerging with metal phthalocyanine to degrade hazard textile pigments, Safety of Phthalonitrile, the main research area is metal phthalocyanine titanium photocatalytic activity textile pigment.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown a great potential for producing efficient and eco-friendly photocatalysts. Furthermore, phthalocyanines (PCs) are promising materials in photocatalytic reactions because of their unique adsorption and photosensitizing properties. Here, three phthalocyanines (Pcs) derivatives with Al3+ and Co2+ ions as the central metal were prepared to attach them to the MOFs matrix. The photocatalytic decay performance of methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO) and their mixtures were investigated under visible light illumination. The photocatalyst NH2-MIL-125, Al-PcCl@NH2-MIL-125, CoPc@NH2-MIL-125, and CoPcPA@NH2-MIL-125 show 0.01, 0.012, 0.035, and 0.046 min-1 MB degradation rate, resp., while, the degradation rates of MO were 0.021, 0.027, 0.052 and 0.082, resp. Amazingly, the degradation rates of MB in presence of MO showed boosted photocatalytic decomposition with the degradation rate of 0.066, 0.069, 0.085, and 0.120 min-1, resp. This study illustrates a high performance for utilizing porous MOF-based materials not only as supports but as electron acceptors that enhance both photostability and photocatalytic activity.

Gounden, Denisha published the artcileMetallophthalocyanines in a ternary photoactive layer (P3HT:MPc:PC70BM) for bulk heterojunction solar cells, Synthetic Route of 91-15-6, the main research area is metallophthalocyanine PHT PCBM bulk heterojunction solar cell.

Novel bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic photovoltaic (OPV) solar cells have been fabricated by introducing a series of metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) into a blend of a poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT) and [6,6]-Ph C70 butyric acid Me ester (PC70BM) photoactive layer. Sixteen MPcs have been synthesized with due consideration of the metal type and valency, functionalised ligand moieties and their resp. mol. energy levels. The MPcs were expected to act as an electron cascade material that improves the photovoltaic performance in a two-fold manner: first, to provide an efficient energy level offset between the polymeric donor (P3HT) and the fullerene-based derivative acceptor (PC70BM) to enhance charge transfer and reduce recombination within the OPV solar cells, and second, to harvest a greater portion of the solar spectrum as MPcs are associated with absorption near the near-IR region. BHJ OSCs were fabricated in the following inverted configuration: ITO/TiO2/P3HT:MPc:PC70BM/WO3/Ag and were investigated for their optimum photovoltaic performance. The BHJ OSCs comprising P3HT, PC70BM and the manganese MPc (MnPc) series photoactive layer displayed the best PCEs in the range of 2.36-2.62% which were approx. 47.5-63.7% higher than those of the binary reference BHJ OSCs.

Araghi, Mohammad Esmaeil Azim published the artcileThermal and Temporal Properties of a Thin Layer of Bromo Indium Phthalocyanine Nanostructures, Safety of Phthalonitrile, the main research area is bromo indium phthalocyanine nanostructure thermal temporal property.

In this work, we report on the synthesis, fabrication, and elec. and optical characterization of sandwich devices of bromo indium phthalocyanine thin film nanostructures in aluminum electrodes using electron beam evaporation in a high vacuum which have the potential to be used for sensing applications. The study investigate the influence of both parameters of temperature and frequency on the conduction mechanism to determine the transport process in the carriers. Results demonstrate that the capacitance, dielec. constant and loss factor decrease with increasing the frequency and increase in high temperatures The behavior of capacitance and loss factor fits well with the model of Goswami and Goswami and the results imply the domination of hopping theory. In addition, anal. of the absorption spectrum indicates that the optical band gap energy is 3 eV. Furthermore, morphol. anal. demonstrates that all films have a smooth surface with homogeneous small crystal grains with a nanoscale size order of 40 ± 10 nm. Thus, temperature and frequency-dependent experiments of optical and elec. parameters of the bromo indium phthalocyanine thin film nanostructures show their potential to be employed for sensing applications.

Guezel, Emre published the artcileHigh Photosensitized Singlet Oxygen Generating Zinc and Chloroindium Phthalocyanines Bearing (4-isopropylbenzyl)oxy Groups as Potential Agents for Photophysicochemical Applications, Category: nitriles-buliding-blocks, the main research area is oxygen zinc chloroindium phthalocyanine isopropylbenzyloxy photophysicochem application.

In this study, novel phthalonitrile derivatives (1 and 2) and their peripherally and non-peripherally tetra (4-isopropylbenzyl)oxy-substituted zinc and chloroindium phthalocyanine complexes (3-6) have been prepared for the first time. The synthesized phthalonitrile derivatives and phthalocyanine complexes were characterized spectroscopically. Not only the chloroindium phthalocyanines but also zinc phthalocyanines are essentially free from aggregation in THF at the studied micromolar concentration The purpose is to compare the effects of two types of substitution on the phthalocyanines to be used as sensitizers in photodynamic therapy (PDT). Photophys. and photochem. properties of all phthalocyanines are investigated and the results showed that the peripheral phthalocyanines more effectively photooxidize DPBF through singlet oxygen. The photochem. results showed that both ZnPc (3 and 5) and InPc (4 and 6) can be used as sensitizers in PDT because of their very high singlet oxygen quantum yields (range from 0.80 to 0.97).

A series of novel asym. metallo (Mg, Zn and Ga) phthalocyanines were synthesized using different ratios of starting materials. After purification, these compounds were obtained in high yields. The asym. phthalocyanines were characterized by UV-visible (UV-vis), IR (IR) and 1H NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS) and elemental anal. High solubility in organic solvents was observed because of the ester moiety at the peripheral position, and no aggregation was observed over a wide concentration range. The photophysicochem. properties of magnesium (3a), zinc (3b) and gallium (3c) phthalocyanines were examined The highest singlet oxygen quantum yield of 0.66 was obtained for 3c. The photophysicochem. measurements demonstrate clearly the potential of these asym. phthalocyanines as photocatalytic agents in the photodegradation of organic pollutants in wastewaters. The zinc complex (3b) was attached onto silica as a solid support, and photocatalytic degradation studies were carried out using Orange G to provide a typical organic pollutant.

The amount of phthalocyanine mols. adsorbed on SWCNT walls was shown to be 1.5 times higher in the SWCNT/ZnPc-CH hybrid. The SWCNT/ZnPc-CF layer exhibited 2 times less chemiresistive sensor response to ammonia than SWCNT/ZnPc-CH, while its sensor response was more stable at 70% relative humidity.

Boughoues, Yasmine published the artcileExperimental and theoretical investigations of four amine derivatives as effective corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in HCl medium, Recommanded Product: 2-Aminobenzonitrile(Flakes or Chunks), the main research area is amine derivative mild steel corrosion inhibition mol dynamics simulation.

Four amine derivative compounds were synthesized: 2-[(phenylamino)methyl]phenol, 2-{[(4-hydroxyphenyl)amino]methyl}phenol, 2-[(2-hydroxybenzyl)amino]benzonitrile and 2-{[(3-chlorophenyl)amino]methyl}phenol. The structure of the organic mols. was confirmed by FT-IR, 13C NMR and 1H NMR spectroscopy analyses. Their corrosion inhibition performances on mild steel in 1 M HCl were investigated using electrochem. measurements and surface anal. SEM anal. confirms the presence on the mild steel surface of a protective film of the as-prepared organic compounds, which depends on the substituent groups. Moreover, d. functional theory and mol. dynamics simulation were employed in order to determine the adsorption mechanism and the position of amine derivative mols. towards the mild steel surface in an aggressive solution and to confirm the electrochem. results. The inhibition efficiency (IE) decreases with a decrease in concentration and the adsorption obeyed the Langmuir isotherm. The substitution of the OH group on the aromatic ring by Cl or CN increases IE to 90.23 and 92.56%, resp. Mol. dynamics simulations attested that the four mols. were adsorbed on the Fe (110) surface in a flat position in the presence of water and HCl with high interaction between the different groups of the inhibitors and mild steel surface.
