General procedure: A 10?mL Pyrex tube equipped with a magnetic stir bar wascharged with 1,4?DCB (25.6 mg, 0.2 mmol), fac?Ir(ppy)3 (2.6mg, 2 molpercent) and DMSO (2 mL). The organic extracts were combined, washed with brine and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate.The solvent was removed under vacuum and the residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (petroleum ether:ethyl acetate = 3:1) to afford the desired product.
