General procedure: Toa RB flask, 1-aryl/alkyl-3,3-bis-methylsulfanyl-propenone (1.0 mmol) and 2-cynomethyl-benzonitrile(1.0 mmol, 142.0 mg) was added. Then powderedKOH (2.0 mmol, 112.0 mg) and dry DMSO (5.0 mL) was added andreaction mixture was stirred for 2h at room temperature.
